August 2025 Monthly Update

August 2025 Monthly Update

Welcome to the August Monthly Update! As summer winds down, activity across the ecosystem is picking up. September will bring several development milestones, setting the stage for an eventful Q4. Let’s take a look at everything that’s going on.

Physical AI Pilot

ChromBot is a physical AI device powered by Chromia and EVAL Engine, bringing together robotics, blockchain, and AI.

This month, the Data and AI team appeared at a meetup in Seoul, Korea, where they showcased the ChromBot and discussed the potential of Chromia x Robotics. The event followed last month’s unveiling in Hangzhou, China.

You can find a recap of the event by @wnektk333 here. If you can’t read Korean, try the Translate function!

VectorDB Langchain Integration

We are integrating Chromia VectorDB with LangChain, one of the most widely used frameworks for AI agents. This integration will let developers use our blockchain network as a data source for real-time storage, retrieval, and interaction.

By connecting Chromia to LangChain as a vector store, developers can store embeddings and documents directly on a Chromia chain instead of traditional databases like Pinecone or Weaviate. This adds verifiability and persistence to AI-driven applications.

The integration and supporting documentation are almost done, and we expect to announce the completion of this milestone in the coming weeks.

CRC2 NFT Standard

The CRC2 NFT standard, along with the EVM compatible CRC2 bridge and developer documentation is on track for September release.

CRC2 is designed to be compatible with both ERC-721 and ERC-1155, while adding enhancements like metadata expansion, on-chain content storage, and built-in programmability. To learn all about upcoming development, check out our recent blog post.

Go Client for FT4

We are completing the final preparations for the FT4 Go Client. This client is a key step toward an upcoming CEX integration of native CHR, which we are anticipating by the end of the year. It may also streamline future CEX integrations.

SafePal Browser Extension Wallet

We’re excited to announce that SafePal has integrated Chromia Mainnet into their browser extension wallet. Users can now send and receive $CHR directly on Chrome, Firefox, and Edge via the SafePal extension. Check out the announcement from SafePal here

Mainnet Milestones

Chromia Mainnet continues to hit milestones, with over 1 million user accounts, 5 million transfers, and 115 million transactions recorded to date. Keep an eye on all the latest activity using our Official Explorer.

Zanmang Loopy Drops Wrap Up

A key contributor to recent mainnet activity was the Zanmang Loopy Drops collecting contest, which you can read about in this article published to our X account. With almost 9 million transactions in less than two months, the event has provided a serious demonstration of Chromia’s scalability!

ColorPool LP Campaign Continues

ColorPool is the leading mainnet DEX and includes pairs for CHR, USDC, COLOR, ALICE, and D tokens.

ColorPool’s LP Campaign went live in July and is ongoing. The program offers 24 months of rewards, including 5x rewards for the first 3 months.

For a step-by-step guide on how to participate, check out this post from ColorPool’s X account.

UdonFi Update

UdonFi, a lending and leverage platform on Chromia, had its soft launch last month and is preparing for the next stage, which will include a native token and user incentives. The team appreciates feedback from early users as they continue to refine the platform.

Notably, UdonFi is leveraging Chromia’s Oracle Extension as a key part of its design. This serves as a reminder that as new capabilities are added to Chromia, developers can use them to create more sophisticated applications. Check out this oracle section from UdonFi’s documentation to learn more.

Hello World Tutorial

Our developer advocate Philip Hilm is back with another video tutorial! This time, he shows how to deploy a 'Hello World' dApp on Chromia Testnet and offers tips on troubleshooting.

Check it out here, along with a variety of other developer-focused videos, on our YouTube channel.

Container Grant Program

Our Container Grant Program is still available and accepting applications. Developers can apply to receive six months of free mainnet hosting to help bring their Chromia dapps to life!

Looking Ahead

September will bring a number of key deliverables, including:

  • VectorDB Langchain Integration
  • Continued work on Physical AI and ChromBot
  • CRC2 NFT Standard and EVM-CRC2 Bridge
  • FT4 Go Client

Even more importantly, these deliverables will lay the groundwork for upcoming ecosystem developments throughout the rest of the year. We’re gearing up for an eventful close to 2025!

About Chromia

Chromia is a Layer-1 relational blockchain platform that uses a modular framework to empower users and developers with dedicated dapp chains, customizable fee structures, and enhanced digital assets.
